Nizar Rasho is a lawyer from Sinjar, Iraq, who obtained a bachelor's  degree in Law and Politics from the University of Duhok in 2013. After  the Yazidi genocide in 2014, he worked with various local and  international initiatives to document crimes against the Yazidi people  and provide aid. He worked as a lawyer and office manager with the  Yazda Global organization from 2015-2017. In 2017, Nizar moved to the  US as a refugee and started working with Lutheran Family Services as  an Employment Specialist. Over the years, he has received multiple  promotions and is now a Program Director overseeing Economic  Empowerment and Education programs for new refugee arrivals.
